In a world full of cooking apps, many bombard users with dense text and make it difficult to find the desired recipe. Recognizing the absence of user-friendly cooking apps, our project aims to address this gap by creating a social media platform tailored for novice to intermediate cooks.

Problem
Cooking platforms can be overwhelming, especially for users trying to find and follow recipes online. Skill level varies widely, and existing platforms often don't account for that gap.
process
Research: Interviews were conducted with individuals across varying cooking skill levels to understand their specific challenges with finding and following recipes online. From these interviews, user personas were built around the concrete tasks and pain points each type of user faced.
Initial Direction: Synthesizing the interview findings led to one overarching goal: create an accessible community for cooking and recipe sharing.
Testing: Cognitive walkthroughs were run using predefined tasks (undisclosed to users), focused on two core objectives, opening a recipe from the homepage, and filtering through recipes to find what they needed.

Low-Fidelity Prototype
What We Learned: The design performed well overall, but testing surfaced three key areas to improve:
Group search filters into broader categories
Reposition the "Community" tab for better alignment
Redesign the login page with toggles and clearer forms
RESULTS
A high-fidelity prototype, refined directly from user testing insights, addressing the filtering, navigation, and login issues identified during walkthroughs.
