Overview
Encountering a Blender illustrator artist on Instagram was the moment I was first introduced into a 3D rendering program. Intrigued by curiosity, I decided to install Blender upon discovering its accessibility as a free software, coupled with the multiple of online tutorials I found on Youtube to guide me through the fundamentals. From there, my curiosity grew more and more of the endless capabilities I could do with this program and what it can create, continuously pushing out passion projects with Blender in any way that I could.

During high school, I had horrible forehead acne. I was severely insecure of it and would spent countless of hours trying to do research on how to counter it. While doing this research, I grew curious about the packaging design of skincare brands and which ones I was drawn too. Additionally, I wondered if this was something I would be able to render in Blender, wanting to become more familiar with the program. Piquing my curiosity, I created the concept of ‘Hoa’, a cleanser brand created for all people with different skin types.
The name ‘Hoa’ is the Vietnamese translation for ‘Flower’; Vietnamese being Tiffany’s (the creator) ethnic language
and paying homage to her country. Furthermore, the main cleanser suited for normal to all skin types is infused with rose micellar water, creating a link between the two.

Brief
The concept of cyber sigilism hadn't gained popularity when Toericht released his tutorial on creating a 'Chrome Mask' in Blender. However, upon watching his tutorial and seeing the final result, I was deeply intrigued and eager to try it myself. Coincidentally, around the same time, Kanye West's 'Praise God' was released. The gritty aesthetic of the 3D render complemented the song perfectly, inspiring me to blend the two in some way. To elevate the 3D render beyond just the mask, I incorporated wired chains around the statue and overlaid edited lyrics and doodles onto the video to enhance the gritty concept.
