Overview
This section of my portfolio may be my most vulnerable, but for good reason. During high school, my passion for K-pop and design was at its peak. I discovered a niche community of fellow enthusiasts creating fanmade K-pop designs, yet I found that the majority didn't align with my personal tastes. This sparked my curiosity to merge all my interests—graphic design, 3D renders, motion graphics, and K-pop—into one, and create the content I envisioned.
Before you dismiss this as just another cringey fandom corner of the internet, I encourage you to look deeper and appreciate the considerable effort I've invested in creating these motion graphics. I've dedicated myself to learning various Adobe Suite and 3D rendering programs to bring these creations to life.

After watching the gameplay of ‘Backbone’, I was heavily inspired by the beautiful pixel art and ambient lighting used within the game to create ambiance. Furthermore, my fascination with 'Pixel Architect' videos, detailing the process of crafting pixel-art-based games, largely intensified my want to embark on a similar creative journey, albeit on a more modest scale of my own. With a large interest for the K-pop group TXT (Tomorrow by Together), I found myself drawn to the narrative of their music video "Nap of a Star," envisioning it as an ideal foundation for the game's storyline.
The final product, while not a fully developed playable game available for download, presents my involvement in crafting illustrations and developing a website where users can access information about the game and experience its aesthetic essence.

For months straight, I listened to "Fairy of Shampoo" by TXT on loop. Its blend of jazzy elements and nostalgic, dreamy atmosphere made me feel like I was floating on clouds every time I had listened to it. With a desire to translate my envisioned imagery and the emotions I felt while listening to the song, I created 3D renders complemented by motion graphics. This project was aimed to translate both the lyrical essence and the emotional resonance of the music into a visual medium for other to immerse themselves in.

With a strong desire to enhance my skills and maintain my passion, the remaining motion graphics were inspired by small ideas or a desire to blend my concepts with elements of K-pop culture. In general, these passion projects served as a pivotal moment in my evolution as a designer, enabling me to explore parts of design that intrigued me greatly but previously felt too daunting to delve into, lacking a clear starting point. Through combining my interest in design and K-pop together, I created things that not only I liked as a designer, but developed my skills through various programs.
